  • Neighbouring Barra\‘s beach airport, Traigh Eais faces into the full force of the Atlantic ocean. Not only does this make for some spectacular winter seas but the weather has driven the sand dunes up to form some of the highest in Britain.

Overlooking the beach is the house built by \‘Whisky Galore\’ author Compton Mackenzie in the 1930s.
