Holy Island (Lindisfarne) Beach (Harbour beach)

The Harbour beach on Holy Island is the easiest to get to being on the shoreward side of the island. The beach itself isn’t quite as pretty as the other expansive, sandy beaches in the area but there are great views of both 16th century Lindisfarne Castle and the medieval Priory.

There are plenty of facilities close to the beach.

Lindisfarne is a tidal island with access by a paved causeway which is covered at high tide. Therefore, if you are planning walking over and back you’ll need to keep an eye on the tides.

Dogs allowed

Responsible dog owners are welcome on the reserve but dogs must be kept on a lead or at heel at all times (even on the beaches) to avoid disturbance to our birds and grazing livestock. These byelaws help protect the reserve.
