Sandtop Bay
Set on Caldey Island, just off the coast of Tenby, is the secluded beach at Sandtop Bay. A beautiful stretch of pristine golden sand facing westwards into the Atlantic Ocean.
Backed by sloping cliffs which lead into sand dunes it is something of a scramble to get down to the beach. Combined with it being a bit of a walk from most of Caldey Island’s other points of interest there is every chance you will have this lovely beach to yourself.
Given its remoteness, steeply banking sands and often powerful currents swimming is not recommended at Sandtop Bay. In fact some locals say they would not even consider paddling here which may be sensible advice as there have been drownings here over the years.
