Prestwick Beach
Prestwick is a long, mostly sandy beach, with some pebbles, offering excellent views out over the Firth of Clyde across to the mountainous Isle of Arran. Glasgow Prestwick Airport is very close to the beach and it is possible to see the planes landing and taking off from the beach.
There is a large car park on the outskirts of Prestwick along Links Road, near the train station. An indoor children’s play area can be found next to the car park which can be a great place for energetic, little ones to let off steam on a rainy day. There is also a café and public toilets.
An esplanade runs alongside the beach, which can be accessed via a number of slipways. To the south of the car park, the beach is backed by a grassy area that is popular for family picnics. At the very southern end of the esplanade there is another car park.
The area is popular with golfers, and the northern end of the beach is backed by Prestwick Golf Club, whilst the Prestwick St Nicholas Golf Club is at the southern end. In the town centre, a short walk from the beach, there are many facilities such as shops, hotels and restaurants. Prestwick Railway Station offers direct services to and from Glasgow.

Prestwick Beach Reviews
Prestwick dunes
Bill
Aug 13th 2021The main beach can be quite small when the tide is in and has many stones, however behind the kids soft play barn is the sandy beach with the dunes and is a great place for the kids to play, it’s a good size and has beautiful views of Arran.
