Rustington Beach

Just along the coast from Littlehampton beach is the peaceful Rustington beach.  This is very much the typical Sussex beach in appearance; largely shingle which is divided up by a series of wooden groynes.

As the tide goes out an expanse of flat sand stretches down to the water’s edge - which can be a considerable distance. This makes it a popular spot for families and dog walkers, however, it never gets too busy.

Rustington is also a popular kitesurfing spot with its consistent south-westerly winds off the Channel. Whenever the wind is up you’ll be sure to see the skyline dotted with kites zipping up and down the beach.

Rustington Beach Reviews

Wonderful

OMG!!!  What a paradise. After visiting all the beaches along West Sussex coast this has got to be my favourite. It has everything from a quiet stretch of beach to a noisier stretch. Suitable for every taste, shops are great, people friendly, kids entertainment if needed. Toilet facilities are available everywhere and loads of parking areas. Sunshine seems to visit this area a lot. A place to relax and enjoy. TOP MARKS RUSTINGTON.

Seaweed is good

Just to add to the last review, seaweed doesn’t thrive in highly polluted water, so the presence of it is a good thing!

No facilities at this end, no ice cream or drinks, you need Littlehampton end for that. Rustington beach is a lot quieter .

Really disappointed with the beach this week ......so much seaweed, it’s like swimming in a bowl of cabbage. Where has it all suddenly come from.
