Tintagel Beach - Cornwall

Tintagel Castle

There is some evidence of Romano-British use but the castle came into regular use in the early Medieval period. It was first associated with King Arthur by Geoffrey of Monmouth in his mythical account of British history, the Historia Regum Britanniae.
