St. Georges Pier. Menai Bridge Beach - Anglesey

An old tin shack by Ynys Faelog's western causeway

Mike Smylie (Anglesey and its Coastal Tradition. Carreg Gwalch Press ISBN 0-86381-615-0) states that this was the boat building shed of Matthew Owen who specialised in the construction of 4.8m clinker boats used by the herring fishermen of Moelfre. The fishing for herring came to an end in the late 1930s.
