Felixstowe South Beach - Suffolk

Groyne at South Felixstowe

The ends of each of the 21 new groynes at Felixstowe have been constructed in a 'fishtail' design, to limit the effect of the waves. Here, the 'fishtail' section runs parallel to the shore and even on a relatively calm day, waves break over the huge rocks that form the groyne.
