Porlock Weir Beach - Somerset

Red valerian growing on shingle beach

Red valerian (Centranthus ruber) is native to the Mediterranean region but has become naturalised in many other parts of the world as a garden escape. It was doing very well on this beach at the eastern end of Porlock Weir.
