Moelfre Beach - Anglesey

Porth Neigwl cove and the Old Lifeboat Station

This stone-built station replaced a previous wooden building (location unknown) in 1875 and was itself replaced by the present lifeboat station - the roof of which can be seen in the background past the Dic Evans statue - in 1909. Neigwl, also found elsewhere in Wales, is an probably an Old-Irish personal name.
