Mersea Stone Beach - Essex

High water marks

There are three distinct high water marks in this view at Mersea Stone, on the eastern tip of Mersea Island. The lowest is comprised mainly of compacted shells; the middle one is seaweed, whilst the line at the top is a low bank consisting mainly of mud and sand.
