Broughty Ferry Beach - Tayside

Broughty Ferry Beach

Broughty Ferry, originally a fishing village, became a dormitory town for the rich jute merchants of Dundee. At one time it had more millionaires than in the whole of the rest of Scotland; and in those days a million was a very very large amount. The "Ferry" was popular with Dundee folk as a holiday resort, and its beach now enjoys "Blue flag" status; and its water enjoy "blue with cold" status.
