Westbourne: long evening shadows the beach

The bright sunshine today has attracted lots of people to the beach and now that evening draws near, they and their equipment cast long shadows on the sand. After the most mediocre of summers, this weekend has achieved the hottest October temperatures ever recorded, with 29.9° recorded in Kent yesterday and at least 25° here in Bournemouth. Even now, at around 5pm, the beach is still busy with people enjoying the hot weather shortly before the sun passes behind the cliffs.
