Westbourne: evening view across the bay

Looking across Poole Bay towards the hills of the Isle of Purbeck, on a gorgeous Sunday at around 5pm, with the evening sun now producing long shadows across the sand as beachgoers continue to enjoy the warmth. After the most mediocre of summers, this weekend has achieved the hottest October temperatures ever recorded, with 29.9° recorded in Kent yesterday and at least 25° here in Bournemouth. Even now, at around 5pm, the beach is still busy with people enjoying the hot weather shortly before the sun passes behind the cliffs.
