Aldeburgh Beach - Suffolk

Scalloped night

The Scallop Shell sculpture by Maggie Hambling on Aldeburgh beach, Suffolk, UK. I lit the shell to look like stage spotlighting. The words on the shell are from Britten's opera Peter Grimes and lit to look like a spotlight shining on the performer singing the song. In this case the singer is the Scallop. The Opera was performed outside on the beach during the centenary festival and this inspired the image. This was lit using a Maglite torch.
