Eastside Beach
As the name suggests this lovely stretch of sand is situated on the east coast of South Ronaldsay, the most southerly of the Orkney Islands.

Eastside beach is made up of a crescent of golden sand backed by low dunes and fields beyond. On the northern headland overlooking the beach is the chapel and graveyard of St Peter’s Kirk.
A little further along is the Millennium Stone, a 2 metre tall standing stone created to celebrate the year 2,000. Engraved with a dragon head, Viking longship and Pictish symbols the stone also has a hole which is said to represent an oath.
