The lively seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare has plenty to offer by way of traditional British seaside activities.  The pier and promenade have seen significant investment in recent years, and visitors heading to the top of the long stretch of the main beach and promenade will reach Knightstone Causeway, which links the main beach to Knightstone Island.

On the opposite side of the causeway is Marine Lake, an artificially maintained cove, built in 1927 to facilitate bathing at low tide. The small beach here is especially popular with families or with anybody wishing to experience the joys of saltwater bathing, without the risks of dangerous currents or sinking sands.

Knightstone Harbour has a sea wall and a slipway.  There are a couple of cafes on Knightstone Island and a choice of bars and restaurants on Knightstone Road, which is a short walk from the beach.
