Porthluney Cove

Porthluney is a sheltered sandy cove near Dodman Point. Overlooked by Caerhays Castle, the cove is part of the Caerhays estate. There is easy access and safe swimming.

Despite it being listed as a nudist/naturist beach in several places I have yet to find any evidence that it is. Generally considered a family beach so would not imagine this would be appreciated.

Scam parking

Sep 17th 2021

Avoid like the plague. The parking is a deliberately confusing scheme that aims to con you and then apply punitive charges if you make a mistake. The owners of the estate should be ashamed of themselves.

£100 fine for Disabled Parking !

May 09th 2024

I have a cornwall council blue badge parking card and my car is registered. The parking meter clearly states that parking for disabled badge holders is free. I displayed my card but 4 days later received a £100 fine !!  Awful!! I am local and have never been charged when the carpark was manned by a human being !!

Lovely beach and the car park wasn’t as bad as some of the comments here would have you believe. Just make sure you have a contactless payment method.

Car park awful

So sad. Love this beach, but ugly car park signs and machines make it so commercial now. Such a shame! I’m a local, but going to find somewhere else where the environment hasn’t been spoilt.

Terrible parking charges

Love the beach

The car park to this beach changed this year to an ANPR system which has turned out to be terrible. There is now no free parking at all throughout the year. There are lots of large signs and cameras which have completely spolit this area of natural beauty. Greedy land owners at there worst. Lots of people getting fines when they get home from their holidays. Read Trip advisor for more information. Much nicer beaches to go to. Shame but I will not be visiting again. Cafe will go out of business as the locals are super annoyed too.
