Largs is a traditional seaside resort with lots of activities and places to eat or drink.  There are a number of beaches, as well as two promenades and a number of large, grassy areas.  Thanks to the proximity of the Gulf Stream, the beaches here benefit from a relatively mild climate.  A passenger ferry takes visitors on trips to Great Cumbrae Island. The Clyde Muirshields Regional Park is nearby and is popular with walkers.

Main Beach is sandy in parts, and is backed by a promenade.  There are views over the Firth of Clyde towards Great Cumbrae.
