Corton Sands ( Gunton Sands)
Being just north of Lowestoft, which is Britain’s most easterly point means it can get a little breezy here. The beach itself is a mix of coarse sand and shingle which is divided up by wooden groynes. To the rear of the beach is a large grassy area separated from the beach by a concrete walk way.
Corton was officially designated a naturist beach back in 1979. However, for various reasons this was withdrawn back in 2009. As it stands the council have not allocated any further naturist beaches in the area, but they have also revoked a by-law which prohibited naturists using other local beaches.

Corton / Hopton beach

Aug 02nd 2022If you drive a little way out of Corton towards Hopton there is a church called St Bartholomew’s. I parked here then walked back towards Corton. Just after the church on the bend is an access to a power sub station . Walk down here then vie right at the substation this will take you to the cliffs.
Its a bit difficult getting down but you should find a good spot, otherwise there are steps further down from the nearby chalets.
The beach here is quite remote and because of the difficulty getting to it quiet. There wasn’t any body on the beach when I visited and although the sea was in there was plenty of room and a soft sandy beach
well worth the effort

Jun 05th 2022Nice quiet beach facing East… backing on to steep slope/cliff so no one overlooking activities, about a dozen people of mixed gender when I visited in May2022.
