  • This pleasant sandy beach is backed by a promenade lined with beach huts which leads into Broadstairs town. Behind the beach are high chalk cliffs which provide shelter from the breeze and a feeling of seclusion. The cliffs to cast a shadow over parts of the beach as the sun dips in the late afternoon. It is also worth noting that the beach at Stone Bay almost disappears on the high tide, so be sure to check the tide times.

Stone Bay is usually a quieter option than the town’s main beach which can become very busy in the summer. As a Blue Flag beach there are no shortage of facilities on the beach.

    Stone Bay Reviews

    Great Sandy beach

Stone Bay is an ideal beach for us. It’s much quieter than Broadstairs main beach with a lovely family feel. Despite it’s name, it’s a wide sandy beach edged with colourful beach huts, many of them imaginatively decorated.
It has toilets and a tea bar kiosk but no bars or amusements which suits us fine. These can be found in Broadstairs town centre, a 5-10 minute walk away.
Free parking on the cliff top above the beach.
All in all, a great beach.
