Rush South Beach

Of the three fine beaches in the coastal town of Rush the south one is widely considered the best. This is backed up by a Blue Flag award which means the beach is both clean and has great amenities.

Rush South Beach is a generous 2.5 km stretch of golden sand backed by low grassy dunes. There isn’t much in the way of development along the beach and the southern end is overlooked by a golf course.

As you head southwards along this gently sloping beach it becomes quieter and has an altogether wilder feel. This area, towards the Rogerstown Estuary is popular with kitesurfers when the wind is up.

Despite only being around 40 minutes drive from Dublin city centre Rush South beach rarely gets too busy.
