Ballycuggeran Beach
Ballycuggeran is a small lakeside beach and bathing area on Lough Derg, one of Ireland’s largest freshwater lakes.The lake a designated conservation area and measures 8 miles (13km) across and 24 miles (40km) in length.
Being a lake there are less hazards than at coastal beaches, with no tides, rip currents or waves of any consequence. All the same this beach is lifeguard patrolled during the summer months which makes it a great place for swimming.
