Valtos beach (Traigh na Beirigh) is a mile long crescent of near white sand. Despite being north-facing the beach is quite sheltered owing to the islands just offshore.

The length of the beach is backed by low grass and machair covered dunes. In the summer these become carpeted with wild flowers and orchids. Come here on the right day and the right time of year and you will think you are in paradise - white sand, turquoise water and a beach backed by flower meadows.

Towards the western end of the beach is a campsite, right on the beach. Although the facilities are pretty basic, the view and surroundings more than make up for this.
